Someshwara Temple was constructed during the rule of the Chola dynasty. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is a fine example of the architectural excellence of the Chola era. The other popular deities are Arunachaleswara, Bhimeswara, Kamakshamma and Panchalingeswara. On the eve of Shivarathri, a large number of devotees visit in large numbers to get a glimpse of the Lord.
Iskcon Temple is located on Chord Road. Dedicated to Sri Radha and Krishna, it is visited by both national and international devotees. The temple is set across there are fascinating 7 acres on Harekrishns hillock.
The Bull Temple or Dodda Basavana Gudi was built in the 16th century by Kempa Gowda. Situated in the south of the city, the temple is a temple of Nandi constructed in Dravidian style of architecture. The most bewitching part of the temple is the bull statue measuring 4.5m height and 6.5m long.

The Gavi Gangadhareshvara temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is inside a natural cave in Gavipuram. The temple has two huge granite pillars and an idol of Agni, the God of Fire. Devotees visit in large numbers during the auspicious day of Makar Sankranti to get the beautiful sight of the sun rays falling on the Shiva Linga.
